I've just had this watch for a couple of weeks, so it's yet to be seen how well it holds up over time. The only thing I've noticed so far is that the band is cheap, cheesy, and feels like it's about to break relatively soon. And it doesn't look like I can take it to a watch store and have it replaced - I may have to buy another watch. Which would make me VERY unhappy. So far, so good - but we'll see just how long "so far" lasts.I love this watch! It is big for old eyes and pretty to go with everything. Also, I don’t have a battery to worry with. The best watch I’ve ever had.I was happy to get the chance to review this watch, because I've been considering buying a watch with a solar battery. They reduce waste, and it is cheaper and more convenient not to have to take a watch to the jewelry store to get the battery replaced as often. This watch looks nice. I don't think anyone close would mistake the vegan leather strap (with cork backing) as leather, but it looks nice with the watch, it is flexible, and it tolerates splashing from hand-washing. The smallest hole fits my wrist well. The face is beautiful. I love the mother-of-pearl on mother-of-pearl look. The Swarovski crystals are a nice touch for a bit of flash. For those who aren't used to analog watches, there is a discreet minute track around the edge to make reading the watch easier. (Mine has a small speck of dirt on the edge of the track that does bother me.)The movement is accurate. I charged the watch in my window for five hours, as instructed, and then set the time. Every time I've compared it to a synced digital clock (such as my phone or laptop), it has been correct. My only complaint is that where the band meets the case feels flimsy. It is a small complaint, and pins are easy to replace.I think this is a watch that looks quite elegant for the price and the eco-friendly features are very appealing. I hope solar batteries will become increasingly popular.FYI that I have not set this out in the sun; I just set it out on my desk and it charged from the overhead light.I love solar watches just because replacing batteries is a weak spot for me, and I end up putting watches aside when their batteries die. So this is an important feature of this watch to me.It's not a 'high-end' watch, of course. The metal in particular is a bit of a disappointment to me on this one; it's just not nice metal. The rest of the watch is fine, especially for this price point, so I wish they picked a nicer metal. I have no qualms about vegan leather; although I'm not vegan, I have a number of friends who are, and the quality of the band seems fine to me. Long enough for my 8" wrist, which isn't always the case. Keeps time well.A fine watch for the price, and I do love the solar charging.I love watches. I have worn one for over 60 years, so even though I have a cell phone, I still wear a watch. I love solar watches. I hate having to get new batteries, so these run so much better. This one will run for 4 months once it is fully charged. Charge it by putting it in full sunlight for 5 hours. I put them in my west facing window! I also like that this watch is water resistant. I have another solar watch that is solar, but it's band is fabric and takes a long time to dry. This one is "vegan leather." I also like a buckle watch because some days I like it looser and others tighter. This one is a lot dressier than other solar watches I have had or have seen. For those who want this information, both the band and the movement are from China. This makes a really nice gift--I gave this watch to a friend who lives in Florida, so there is plenty of sunshine to keep the watch charged (although it recharges on indoors lighting as well). The watch itself is lovely with a mother-of-pearl face and clear, easy to read numbers. Not everyone likes (or can read) an analog watch face but for my friends and me, that is our preference so I'm glad to get such a pretty watch with an analog face. I (and my friends) find it easier to see how much time is left before the hour with an analog watch.Overall, my friend seems very pleased with the watch. It came in a nice, box, too, that was easy for me to wrap for her birthday. The watch also seemed to be of higher quality and craftsmanship than some other watches I looked at, all of which made it the perfect gift. This Anne Klein watch is what I call a Dress Watch, because it's perfect for office wear. It makes a Statement, too, by being sleek and small. The "vegan leather" watchband strap looks and feels lux. And it looks great next to both gold and silver bracelets. The main plus for me is that this watch is solar powered. I don't have to think about winding it and resetting the time. It runs beautifully. And if you happen to go out after work, this timepiece s perfect for that, too.
